Our Guiding Principles
LATEST FROM THE COMMITTEE
Let’s Make a Deal
If we keep making deals, instead of constitutional governance and true fiscal responsibility, we will deal ourselves back into economic bondage.
JOIN THE COMMITTEE
Please support the courageous veterans who are continuing to fulfill their oath to protect our country by becoming a Committee to Support and Defend member or making a general donation. 100 percent of donations received for the Committee will be used to promote military voices and protect the U.S. Constitution for future generations. Your support means so much to those efforts. Thank you and may God continue to bless and protect the United States of America.
MILITARY NEWS
Increased Devotion
President Abraham Lincoln was not the featured speaker for the dedication of the Gettysburg National Cemetery, but his 263-word speech will never be forgotten. When I think about Memorial Day it is truly about those of us who still walk about taking increased devotion to those who have given the last full measure of devotion. Memorial Day is special to me because my Dad and Mom are buried together in Marietta National Cemetery in Georgia. My Dad, Herman West Sr., was a World War II US Army Corporal who answered the call of duty to serve his Nation, even when his Nation did not serve him. My Dad wanted to be a part of a new birth of freedom for people far and away from him in the European Theater of Operations (ETO). And having been born in 1920 in the South, Dad was yet to experience many of those freedoms, but that did not deter him.
Conservatives to Speaker Kevin McCarthy: ‘Hold the Line’ on Debt Ceiling
Conservative leaders nationwide reviewing that material are now circulating a memo of their own showcasing the highlights of that “Dear Colleague” congressional memo, gathering signatures from policy and opinion leaders nationwide to reinforce the GOP’s confidence in both chambers that the majority of Americans stand with them on these demands for fiscal sanity, with a final memo to be released late Wednesday.
Oklahoma bans more than a dozen woke banks from doing business with the state
Oklahoma State Treasurer Todd Russ is planning to announce the sweeping measure Wednesday morning which represents one of the most aggressive actions any state has taken against banks pursuing so called environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives. The move ultimately blocks the banks from managing billions of dollars in Oklahoma pensions, investments and other state entities.
Attacking parents is a primary leftist strategy
Parenthood. What causes liberal elites to despise this institution? So, what is it about parenthood that brings up such vitriolic reactions these days? Parenthood is more than the ability to bring children into this world. Indeed, it is the ability of an adult to take joy in the responsibilities that come with educating, rearing, and taking care of one’s children.
Democrats are threatening to remove security funding for Supreme Court
ACRU Executive Director Allen West has this to say on the issue, "The Senate Democrats do not possess the power of the purse, so any appropriations measure they propose would have to be approved by the US House of Representatives. However, this unconstitutional violation of the separation of powers assault by Senate Democrats against the Judicial branch is a clear threat to our representative democracy and its foundations. But, if the US Supreme Court needs a security force, I am more than happy to head it up!"
Insurers Flee From Woke ESG Initiatives
Zurich Insurance Group, along with Hannover Re and Munich Re, recently backed out of the Net Zero Insurance Alliance. Munich Re cited what it called the “material” legal risks it would face if it remained. All three said they’ll still pursue net zero goals, just not in coordination with an alliance.
ACRU AND AMAC ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP TO ASSIST VETERAN FAMILIES
The Committee to Support and Defend is honored to be in coalition with AMAC to support liberty and freedom issues and to support military and veteran families. We are building partnerships and grassroots networks of like-minded military and veteran families that love and support American Constitutional values.
The AMAC Foundation was launched in July, 2013 in response to interest expressed by Association of Mature Americans (AMAC) members for a nonprofit organization focused totally on the needs of America’s older citizenry. These interests coincided with the stated mission of the AMAC organization: to serve as the voice of Americans 50 years of age and older, and to sponsor initiatives that keep America strong.
One of many services offered by the AMAC Foundation is a library of helpful resources for veterans. At the link below, you can find information about:
- Disabled / Wounded Veterans
- Family Support
- Addiction Support
- Financial Planning
- Legal Support
- Military Trauma
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Suicide Prevention
- Veteran Employment
- Veteran Housing / Homelessness
- Veteran Training Opportunities
- And more…
To expand its support, AMAC Foundation established the Foundation Veteran Outreach Program (FVOP), a collaboration with other Veteran-related organizations, including AMAC Action and Committee to Support and Defend. As the program launches in early 2023, FVOP will a primary way for the collaborative partners to provide resources, promote events and webinars, and connect with each other to assist Veterans, Active Duty, and their families.

“The key to safe and secure elections is citizen participation in the process. Presently, there is a shortage of poll workers. The American Constitutional Rights Union’s Committee to Support and Defend is recruiting veterans to work the polls on election day. Our veterans have pledged an oath to support and defend the Constitution and we are thankful that they consider this oath to be a lifelong commitment.”
Attorney General Edwin Meese III
