As we drift into summer, many of us begin to think about all the fun things that come with the recreational season — hamburgers sizzling on the grill, pool days, enjoying the sunshine with family and friends, trips and vacations. These are just a few of the pleasures of freedom. That’s the beauty of America. We are free to pursue life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Over the last two years, we have seen many of our liberties threatened or taken away altogether under the guise of “medical necessity and safety.” As concerned citizens and veterans, we need to be engaged and involved in our local communities to ensure our freedoms.
This is our vision at the Committee to Support and Defend; veterans leading Americans in defense of our liberty. We exist to provide a voice to our active service members and mobilize veterans as they continue to honor their oath to support and defend the US Constitution.
We, as veterans and concerned citizens, can make a difference. Many of us have had to deploy and go into harm’s way to stop tyranny and evil.
The enemy is now at our gates. We are what we accept! We must not tolerate tyranny in our schools, hospitals, airports, businesses, communities, or government. Tyranny of any form is evil.
We must defend freedom; it is fragile. John Adams once said, “A Constitutional government, once changed from freedom, can never be restored. Liberty once lost is lost forever.” We must be ever vigilant to stand up to those who even hint at challenging our freedoms. This is for our families and future generations. May they ever be free. Freedom was everything to our founders, and it should be to us. What will we do without freedom?
